Didn’t realize this was loosely based on Celine Song’s own story. Very cool. I saw this film this week in Japantown in San Francisco and debated writing a review. Still pondering it. This is good context for some of the background source material. I really loved the trailer. That was a cinematic experience in and of itself. I wrote about Asian film in one of my posts for BEVP. Thank you for this interview Dave! I loved Past Lives so much and I think I’ll see it a second time before it leaves theaters. Definitely one of the best movies this year and as a daughter of immigrants I’m so grateful to see stories like this in movie theaters! I loved Celine Song being deliberate about the pauses in the film and embracing the quiet of those pauses, I actually found myself holding my breath during some of those moments the emotion was so full. Thanks for sharing this!

Dave I just saw the film and I absolutely loved it. My favorite of the year. Not enough has been said about the killer soundtrack too! Grizzly Bear is an amazing band, and it was so amazing to hear them contribute to such a powerful score.
